2024 A Year Of Impact

Houston Non-Profits

As we close the chapter on 2024, we want to celebrate the incredible strides we’ve made together at Bridge The Gaps and creating meaningful connections while making an impact with our underprivileged and at-risk youth.

This year has been a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and community! Here are some of the highlights we’re proud to share:

2024 Highlights

  • Celebrating Successes: Our BAMM program (Behavior Attitude Mental Mentoring) was at Bammel Middle School directly mentoring high-risk students with over 3,200 hours logged. This was onsite and in-person mentorship!

  • Play 4 Purpose: BTG allocated mentorship, training, and coaching hours for various high school football programs through our Play 4 Purpose Program with four High School teams including Klein Forrest, Spring, Westfield, and Dekaney - clocking over 2,500 hours of community service.

  • Bikes Toys & Giving: The Holiday/Christmas Initiative has collectively provided 60 bikes to lower income elementary students! Students are selected by the administration but it's the smiles on their faces that make this opportunity so rewarding.

  • Partnerships: We welcomed three new partners who joined us in our mission to bringing resources to the community that directly drive impact!

  • Kickback Giveback: We hosted our first fundraiser event, welcoming over 50 guests and 5 event sponsors to help raise funds for our fall families-first programs! This event will be an annual gathering! If you didn't make it this year, we hope you can join us next year!

  • Thanksgiving Drive: Through our Families First Program, we supported over 300 families with full Thanksgiving meals and Turkeys this year in collaboration with Spring ISD Athletics. This was our third year handing out meals and we are excited to continue this program again for many more years to come.

  • Back To School: In 2024, we were able to help 20 underprivileged, lower-income, at-risk elementary students, designated by the school's administration, with back-to-school shopping opportunities. This included purchasing necessities for students such as clothing, toiletries, and school supplies. Elementary Schools in the program included: Keiser, Klenk, and Booker Elementary.

These achievements are possible because of the collective effort of our partners, supporters, and the communities we serve. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to making a difference.

Looking Ahead 2025

The work continues, and we’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in 2025. Here’s how you can join us in the next phase of our journey:

  • Collaborate on New Initiatives: Let’s co-create solutions to tackle emerging challenges and expand our reach! We need all hands on deck and welcome your ideas and suggestions to help us continue our work.

  • Become a Partner: Whether you’re an individual, organization, or business, there’s a place for you in our mission at Bridge The Gaps. Consider becoming a 2025 Partner!

  • Join Our Board: We're always looking for new and driven individuals to help us make an impact! Consider joining our board in 2025 as we continue to grow.

  • Support Our Programs: Your contributions—time, resources, or donations—can help us scale our impact even further.

  • Spread the Word: Share our story and bring more champions into the fold to amplify our efforts. You may not be able to help right now, but maybe you know someone who can.

Why All This Even Matters

Every year we watch students become lost in the school system. Their challenges are often tied to a lack of individualized support, socioeconomic barriers, and cultural/systemic disconnects. Many at-risk students face challenges outside of school, such as poverty, unstable home environments, or food insecurity. These external stressors can affect their focus, attendance, and ability to complete assignments, leading to academic failure or retaliation in school.

These students are our future. They will become our next generation of citizens and it's our responsibility to help groom them so they can become contributing members of our society. Far too often they end up on a path of anger, destruction, and violence and become victims of their own society and either end up in jail...or worse, dead.

We Are Making A Difference!

We are impacting several at-risk youth and guiding them into a future that sets them up for success.

As we step into the new year, we invite you to continue walking with us, building a future where gaps are bridged, and opportunities are abundant for all.

Together, we can make 2025 a year of even greater transformation.

We are Thankful for our supporting community and want to extend our warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
