BTG Golf Club Initiative
Bridge The Gaps is excited to announce the launch of our high school golf club initiative.
This initiative is set to help provide underprivileged youth with their own set of clubs, specifically targeting lower-income schools with newly launched golf programs.
Bridge The Gaps has been a huge advocate and contributor to the addition of multiple underprivileged high school golf programs. In many cases, these schools had no golf program at all or a very minimal young men program. The addition of young lady programs and full teams are underway and have been a huge success in encouraging “no pass, no play” incentives for students.
“We are very honored to organize and provide excellent athletic resources for the golfing student-athletes to include golf programs that teach and coach the etiquette of the sport. While it’s wonderful to be able to include professional athlete guest speakers, mentorship, and training to help guide the students, we were aware that many could not afford their own equipment to include a set of clubs, gloves, balls, or proper golf shoes”, said Founder and CEO, Omar Durham.
“While having the opportunity is greatly appreciated by all the students, the ability to compete was frustrating and stifling their passions. We want to do as much as we can to continue to encourage and connect students with the tools to compete and fuel their drive as their high school academic and athletic journey continues”, concludes Durham.
BTG is collecting all golf items but clubs are the most needed.
Anyone interested in donating a set of golf clubs can contact Bridge The Gaps here and we will come to pick them up.
We appreciate all of the support and continuous encouragement from our community thus far!
