Through onsite workshops, teens can learn about the dangers of viral social media posts depicting violence, domestic violence, and bullying, and discuss the potential long-term consequences of these actions. The program, Real Talk 4 Real Life is an invaluable tool for Houston’s teens and young adults, equipping them with the knowledge to stay safe and make responsible decisions.
Reconnecting Teens To Reality
The Real Talk 4Real Life program is reconnecting teens to reality. We are empowering young adults to make informed decisions based on social media evaluation by providing mentorship, resources, and guidance. Our mission is to teach youth how to make informed decisions when exposed to so much social media content, taking into consideration the emotional, physical, and mental consequences that could arise from their actions.
Onsite School Workshops
Our onsite workshops deconstruct viral social media posts depicting violence, domestic violence, bullying, and other negative scenarios, and discuss the real-life consequences associated with these types of behaviors. We also incorporate various victims into the program to help give the students alternative perspectives. Our goal is for participants to become more aware of how social media posts can have far-reaching impacts, both for themselves as well as for others.
The Social Media Impact
Through our program, we hope to foster an understanding that social media can be used for good in the community. We strive to equip young adults with the skills they need to responsibly use social media in order to build positive relationships with peers and other members of their community.
